Master’s Students: 22 Master’s students supported (11 graduated: 5 Male, 6 Female).
PhD Candidates: 17 PhD students enrolled, with 2 successful graduations already taking place.
Academic Staff Development: Specialized training conducted for postgraduate students and junior academic staff on proposal writing, data collection, and data analysis.
2. Research & Scientific Output
Journal Publications: 18 peer-reviewed journal papers published.
Conference Proceedings: 18 published conference papers presented at international and regional platforms.
International Conferences:
Hosted the African Conference on Resilient and Sustainable Cities (February 2025) featuring 200+ participants from 16 countries, 106 abstracts received, 75 papers presented, and 65 published in proceedings.
Upcoming 2027 International Conference on Resilient and Sustainable Cities (23–25 February 2027).
3. Community Outreach & Societal Impact
Workshops & Seminars: 15 interdisciplinary workshops/seminars held for ARU staff, students, and local communities.
Outreach Events: 24 community outreach events reaching a total of 1,243 direct beneficiaries.
ICT in Education:
5 government primary and secondary schools reached (Makongo, Msewe, Mugabe, Mapambano, and Buguruni School for the Deaf).
80 primary and secondary school teachers trained in basic ICT skills and creating AI/multimedia teaching aids.
55 computers donated to partner schools to strengthen ICT literacy and support national education policy.
4. Practical Technology Transfer (Kigamboni / Kimbiji Site)
Implementation of sustainable resource recovery and green technology solutions:
Biogas Systems: Household biogas production, purification, and packaging demonstrations for local communities.
Waste & Circular Economy Initiatives:
Organic waste processing and compost production.
Maggot production for alternative feed/waste conversion.
Briquette production from bio-waste.
Eco-friendly bricks & plastic pavers using fecal sludge and recycled plastics.
Local entrepreneurship support, including soap making training.
